Co-ed Grades 2-5 Sessions

These programs emphasize fun games that use basketball to teach fundamental movements and introduces beginning basketball skills. Basic movement skills include the ABC’s of Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. Specific basketball skills taught include stance, footwork, dribbling, passing and shooting. Each session will feature a minimum Coach-to-Camper ratio of 1:8. As the 8 weeks progress, we will build up to more and more game play using the skills and team tactics focussed on in previous weeks. Week 8 will feature a WVBC in-house tournament, where the players will be divided into 4 teams in a “nothing but games” night to celebrate our spring together.  Your child will surely fall in love with basketball after attending these high energy, fun filled sessions!

PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY:

I'd like to commend and thank Coach Greg and the WVBC staff for running a very professional program that my husband and I always feel great about having our son attend. In addition to instilling a love of basketball in him, Greg's supportive and encouraging approach balanced with clear expectations, firm discipline and an emphasis on good sportsmanship is helping to shape our child and his peers into great young people, both on and off the court. Everyone I've ever spoken to over the years has had nothing but great things to say about the WVBC and it’s become evident to us that their praise is clearly very well deserved
Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks. My son had the absolute best experience at the Grade 5 program yesterday. He woke up this morning still raving about it. It is a huge gift to us as parents to find a program that fits him so well. You have clearly built such a positive, engaging, and caring culture.
You and your team were absolutely wonderful, thank you for putting on such a fun camp. My children had a blast.Neither of my kids had ever played basketball and were a little nervous at the start of the camp but by week's end, they both fell in love with the game. I think this is a great testament to you, your WVBC program, and staff.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for basketball camp this week! My son really enjoyed himself and seems so much more confident with his ball skills. He is a 'reluctant athlete'. We've tried many sports and camps over the years and most of the the time he whines and doesn't want to finish. This time he couldn't wait for the next class! On Friday as soon as my husband walked in the door we were off to a nearby park to shoot hoops and practice!
To Coach Greg and the WVBC Staff. I thought I would give you my daughter's feedback from last night: "I learned more in one lesson then I did the whole year at school!" It appears that all the good things I have heard about you and the WVBC program are true!
Finally a basketball program in West Vancouver for kids who want to move to the next level in their basketball development! My son has participated for the past year and every facet of his game has improved 10 fold thanks to the knowledgeable and high-energy staff of the West Vancouver Basketball Club. This is a dedicated group of coaches that not only teach the next level of basketball skills but more importantly how to treat people with respect, deal with adversity and build self confidence through the game of basketball. If you want to prepare your child for high school basketball, this is a must do program!
